Staying at school to complete Year 11 and 12, he worked his weekends and school holidays as a landscape labourer to support himself. Working as a labourer had another profound effect on him. Daimien quickly realised that the people working ‘physically’ the hardest, weren’t the ones making all the money. It was the ‘smart’ ones.
Daimien then went off the rails a bit as a teenager but was helped by being involved with the Army Cadets where a Vietnam veteran and a serving soldier who volunteered as an instructor for his unit put him on a straight and narrow leading to him being accepted into the Royal Military college – Duntroon in 1996. He went on to serve for 14 years from 1996 to 2010 in the services, including operational tours in East Timor and Iraq. It was in the Army that Daimien’s love affair as a property investment mentor begun.
Daimien then transition to civilian life. On returning from his overseas service he knew he had to do something smart with his deployment money. He looked at the share market and decided he couldn’t handle the volatility of it. He would have to deploy again to remote parts of the world and wouldn’t be able to check his stock prices every day. Plus he had seen many of his mates get burnt by shares. So he decided he would invest in property.
Integrity Property Investment has been Daimien’s flagship company along the way but he has been involved in many other businesses including a landscaping company, an adventure park, a bootcamp for children, public speaking, leadership development, parenting training, mortgage broking, property management, online education, online products and business coaching.
